Following a steady spring season, Aiden Hajek (left) is off to a hot start this summer
Wahpeton Post 20 topped Fosston by identical scores of 8-2 in the 2025 home opener Monday at John Randall Field. Aiden Hajek was the star of game one, collecting three hits and producing three runs at the plate, while also earning the win on the mound.
Hajek fired six frames of four-hit baseball, allowing two earned runs and striking out six. The righty didn’t issue a walk, throwing 56 of 77 pitches for strikes.
Cayson Pinsonneault came in to pitch a scoreless seventh.
Trey King, Riley Jones, Ryan Braun and Pinsonneault each collected a single.
Hajek reached base three more times in the nightcap via three walks. King picked up two singles and scored twice. Braun tallied a pair of RBIs and Matt Peterson drove in one run.
Brayden Steffens stole three bases in the second game and King swiped two.
Carter Hockert earned the win after holding Fosston to one earned run across five innings. The righty allowed three hits and a walk while fanning five.
Post 20 will take a 4-0 record into this weekend’s home tournament. KBMW News Live will live stream the team’s first two games at 6:30 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
