Cowboys too much for Wolverines in 42-0 road win

The Breckenridge Cowboys pitched a shutout for the first time this year and scored in all three phases of the game in a 42-0 victory on the road against the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines Friday night.

Lawson Oliphant went up the right sideline for an 85-yard TD to open the game.

The special teams score started the flurry but the defense capped off the 35-point half with a Tucker Snyder strip-sack that he took 33 yards for six.

David Erlandson got his two touchdowns on back-to-back rushing attempts as he scored from 62 and 52 yards, respectively. The senior back had a 60-yards carry as well as he ping-ponged all over the field to 180 yards on only four carries as he was done by halftime.

Gabe Armitage also made the most of his two rushes. He went 31 yards on the first and scored from 40 yards out his next tote.

Riley Kappes’ lone pass completion fell into the hands of Connor Ernst for a 14-yard touchdown.

Breckenridge moves on to a battle of unbeaten Section 6A teams with OTC coming to town for a 7 p.m. battle at Cowboy Field on Friday.
