Incoming Breckenridge seventh grader Malea Fobb had the prestigious opportunity to compete in the Sixth Annual Native American Junior Nationals Basketball Tournament this past weekend in Mesa, Arizona.
The event featured 505 indigenous teams.
Fobb, a 6-foot-1 post player, helped her squad go 8-0 to win the national championship in their division, earning an automatic berth to the 2026 Indigenous Classic.
The 2026 showcase will be held next April in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Circle of Nations/Wahpeton Indian School was the official sponsor of Malea’s championship trip to Arizona.
