Breckenridge Post 53 rebounded from a 13-1 loss to open the Montevideo Tournament by drubbing Pine Island in a 10-0 victory on Sunday.
Cooper Roberts blasted his first home run of the summer, a three-run shot that gave Breckenridge a 6-0 lead in the second inning. Roberts is now batting .310 across 30 plate appearances with seven runs batted in.
Paul Armitage went 2-for-3 and produced three runs. The righty slugger recorded his fourth double of the campaign.
Connor Ernst stayed hot in a 2-for-4 performance. Ernst has tallied five hits over his past three games.
Jacob Nicholson, Riley Kappes, Jordan Teberg, Lawson Oliphant, Logan Church, Charlie Kratcha and Ernst each scored a run.
On the mound, Jaxson Riggs and Kratcha completed three innings each to fire a combined two-hitter. The duo needed just 72 pitches to glide through six scoreless frames.
Riggs mowed through the Pine Island lineup with four strikeouts. Kratcha notched one punchout while retiring nine batters, as the Breckenridge defense committed only one error in the contest.
Breckenridge is back above .500 with a 5-4 record.
