The Breckenridge-Wahpeton Storm softball team earned a road split Wednesday afternoon at Frazee. The matinee games were played under the sweltering sun, with temperatures tipping 90 degrees.

The Storm took the opener, 8-7, and dropped the second tilt, 8-6, in a hotly-contested Heart O’ Lakes Conference rivalry game.

Adi Dodge ripped the cover off the softball in a 7-for-8 day at the dish with five RBIs. Dodge is batting a ridiculous 15-for-19 (.789) over her past five games.

Jaelie Ernst went 3-for-8 with three RBIs and Aubrey Boesen batted 3-for-7.

Ava Jaehning made her first appearance in the circle, picking up her first varsity strikeout and victory. Marley Mumm, the Storm ace, locked down her first varsity save.

Weather pending, the Storm (9-9) is scheduled to host West Central Area (14-4) at 5 p.m. Thursday in the team’s regular-season home finale on AM 1450 and KBMW News Live YouTube.
